Georgia’s strategic location and access to the Black Sea make it a key player in regional connectivity, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said on Wednesday.
“Georgia is a very important player in the region, naturally, together with the countries of the region. We view this as a whole region and consider its potential in terms of connectivity”, she said.
In an interview with Iedi TV, the Foreign Minister highlighted Georgia’s strategic location and its potential to connect the region with international markets via the Black Sea.
She said Georgia’s access to the sea was important not only for the countries of the South Caucasus but also for Central Asian states, further strengthening Georgia’s role in developing regional transport and communication routes.
Botchorishvili also discussed Georgia’s role in the context of the Trump Route project.
“Georgia is playing this role. This is an important region in terms of connectivity, and regardless of how this develops in the future or through which countries these routes pass, this is important and beneficial for Georgia in the context of regional cooperation”, she concluded.
