Nino Tsilosani, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, commented on the ongoing developments in France on Tuesday, saying the Georgian Government was deeply saddened by the developments unfolding on the streets of European capitals and wished the French people peace.
In her remarks, Tsilosani added that Georgian citizens may recall the critical statements made by European leaders and politicians regarding the violent protests that took place in Georgia.
“It is not about scoring political points - our political culture does not allow us to speak to anyone in such a manner. However, the fact is that when violent protests are taking place, the state is required to use a certain degree of force. This is precisely the use of force that we are seeing”, she noted.
