Giorgi Kakhiani, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Wednesday said the presentation of the Trump Tower project in Georgia was a clear indication of the country’s economic attractiveness and stability.
In an interview with Imedi TV, Kakhiani highlighted both the economic and political significance of the project, noting that, amid a challenging regional security environment, an investment of such scale reflected the policies pursued by the Government.
“It was a very important and impressive presentation. The very fact that a brand such as Trump Tower is coming to Georgia speaks volumes. From an economic standpoint, it demonstrates that Georgia is becoming increasingly attractive to international investors. From a political perspective, the entry of such a powerful brand shows that Georgia is regarded as a safe and secure country. This does not happen by chance in a region marked by tensions and armed conflicts. It is the direct result of the policy we have pursued, particularly since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war”, Kakhiani said.
The Vice Speaker also pointed to the involvement of the US President’s family in the project and highlighted Eric Trump’s positive remarks about Georgia.
According to Kakhiani, the project is a tangible outcome of the course pursued by the ruling team.
He also addressed the state of relations between Tbilisi and Washington, stressing that Georgia is prepared to elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level.
“I would emphasise that we are ready not only to restore the strategic partnership we previously had with the United States, but also to take this relationship to an even higher level, based on the interests of both countries”, he concluded.
