Rati Ionatamishvili, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration, on Saturday said that Eurocrats were ultimately confronting official Washington and the US President, commenting on a statement by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
Ionatamishvili linked Kos’s remarks to what he described as a crisis within the European bureaucracy.
“We see that European bureaucrats are ultimately confronting official Washington and the US President”, he said.
“Kos is neither being taken seriously nor even acknowledged by the new head of the US State Department. Once again, we are witnessing the crisis within the European bureaucracy, and this is a very serious signal for European institutions”, Ionatamishvili concluded.
European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said that EU candidate countries should cut ties with the US President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement in order to join the European Union.
