Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said on Wednesday that cooperation in the space sector has emerged as an increasingly important issue for both European and global security, highlighting Georgia’s invitation to a high-level summit initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron as a significant opportunity for the country.
Botchorishvili made the remarks ahead of the first summit dedicated to space-related issues, which will be held in Paris at the initiative of Macron.
“President Macron’s initiative envisages dialogue with partners, and it is important that Georgia has been invited at the highest level to participate in the summit convened at his initiative”, she said.
The Foreign Minister stressed that Georgia’s high-level participation is significant both in terms of the country’s involvement in international discussions and its bilateral relations with France.
“Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will participate in the planned event. In addition to Georgia taking part in important discussions, the summit is also noteworthy from a bilateral perspective. Many delegations, including leaders from various countries, are represented here, and this is a good opportunity for Georgia”, Botchorishvili concluded.
