Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday said that the only political infighting currently visible in Georgia was taking place within the domestic so-called opposition, dismissing reports of internal divisions within the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Papuashvili made the comment in response to a journalist’s question about the internal disagreements within the Georgian Dream.
“I don’t know what confrontation you are referring to. The only confrontation we see every day is within the so-called opposition”, he said.
“We see that they have now entered a kind of autumn fever of political activity, which is mainly directed against one another. We are watching this confrontation and, on the contrary, I would tell you that we are rooting for them. It is important that it becomes clear who we are dealing with”, Papuashvili concluded.
