Levan Machavariani, the First Deputy Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party’s parliamentary faction, on Friday said Mamuka Mdinaradze had made a major contribution to strengthening Georgia’s independence and sovereignty, adding that the country was now more independent and sovereign than at any point in its modern history.
Machavariani’s comments came after Mdinaradze resigned as Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development and announced his departure from politics.
He emphasised that Mdinaradze’s years of public service had been marked by patriotism, professionalism and integrity.
“[Mamuka Mdinaradze] has made a very significant contribution to ensuring that Georgia today is as independent and sovereign as it has ever been in the history of independent Georgia. He served his homeland and his team with integrity, and all of his work was grounded in patriotism, professionalism and honesty. I am certain there is no reason behind this decision other than the one Mr. Mamuka Mdinaradze himself has stated”, Machavariani said.
