The First Lady of Georgia, Tamar Bagrationi, participated in the sixth annual summit of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen (SFLG) Global Platform, an international initiative that has brought together spouses of world leaders since 2021.
The platform hosts high-level meetings in Kyiv each year to promote dialogue on issues of global importance and focuses on topics that require international cooperation and coordinated action.
Speaking at the summit, Bagrationi said Georgia’s historical experience demonstrates that preserving national values is the foundation of a state’s resilience.
“Our national identity is based on seven eternal pillars – God, homeland, people, language, country, faith and family. These principles, formed through centuries of struggle, are deeply embedded in our genetic code”, she said.
The First Lady described the strength of the family as one of the most important guarantees of Georgia’s historical continuity, noting that love for one’s homeland and faith begins within the family.
During her address, Bagrationi congratulated Ukraine and the Ukrainian people on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, wishing them peace, prosperity and progress.
She also reaffirmed Georgia’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
