Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs, on Wednesday said that the collective United National Movement must be given a legal assessment once and for all and that its “rampage” on the opposition political field must come to an end.
Gorduladze made the statement while commenting on developments within the opposition alliance.
He emphasised that the public was not interested in which “agent of foreign forces” accuses another of what, or amid what kind of confrontation their relations unfold.
“One thing is clear: such forces should not exist in politics, and once and for all, the collective United National Movement must be given a legal assessment, and their rampage on the opposition political field must come to an end”, Gorduladze said.
The United National Movement has partially confirmed the breakup of the opposition alliance. While the party has not directly said that it has withdrawn from the alliance, it has said that the coalition has already been assessed as dysfunctional and, accordingly, the other parties are no longer members either.
