The 2008 war is an important lesson that once again demonstrates that Georgia’s security and national interests cannot depend on the goodwill of other states, said on Tuesday Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that the ultimate responsibility for the country rests with the Georgian authorities and the Georgian people themselves.
“This reality once again shows how important it is that the government at the helm of the state puts the interests of its own country first under any circumstances. Alignment with the interests of a foreign country, even if it brings specific benefits in the short term, should never become a basis for replacing Georgia’s national interests”, the Prime Minister said.
