Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the opposition United National Movement was a party of the past.
In his remarks on the UNM congress scheduled for tomorrow, Kaladze noted that during its nine years in power, the United National Movement had demonstrated what a government should not be like, and was now showing what an opposition should not look like.
“The National Movement is not relevant; it is a party of the past. This is the group that governed the country for nine years and showed everyone what a government should not be like. Today, while in opposition, they are once again showing everyone what an opposition should not look like”, Kaladze said.
“This is a criminal group. Today, we are talking about the August War, and I will reiterate once again that, through their policies, the steps they took, and what they did and achieved, they committed an act of betrayal against the country”, he concluded.
