Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, on Friday said that Georgia has established positive momentum in its relations with the new United States administration, expressing hope that the newly appointed US diplomat would help further strengthen those ties.
Samkharadze wished Amy V. Diaz, the newly appointed Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Georgia, success in her new role.
“It is important for the United States to have a representative in Georgia. First of all, I would like to wish her success in her work. I also hope that the Chargé d'Affaires will make a significant contribution to the signing of a new strategic partnership between the United States and Georgia. We have a very positive dynamic in our relations with the new US administration, and I hope the new diplomat will further strengthen this momentum”, he said.
The US Embassy in Georgia on Thursday announced that Amy V. Diaz would serve as Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy.
