Mamuka Mdinaradze, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and newly appointed State Minister for Regional Policy Issues, on Wednesday said strengthening the country’s regions would be one of the government’s top priorities, pledging to use his experience to meet the new challenge while thanking law enforcement officers for their service.
Mdinaradze thanked the team he worked with during his tenure as State Minister for the Coordination of Law-Enforcement Agencies.
“It is a great honour and, on the other hand, a great challenge. I would like to thank the team with which I have worked over the past months. Just as I am leaving that position with my head held high, I will be and will work with my head held high in the new position. Mr. Prime Minister, the challenge is accepted”, he said.
The Minister noted that regional development represents a strategic priority for the government and pledged to dedicate his experience to strengthening this area of public policy.
“For us, the regions are a special priority. It is a challenge because strengthening this direction is, on the one hand, a responsibility, and in dealing with this challenge I will put my experience at the service of my team and my country. Just as I have been doing this until now, I am confident it will work out the same way; with the trust of our team and the team leaders we will be able to accomplish all of this”, Mdinaradze noted.
He thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor’s Office, the State Security Service, and all representatives of Georgia’s law enforcement agencies for their work, praising their contribution to the country's development.
“I thank the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor’s Office, the State Security Service and all representatives of the law-enforcement agencies. Heroes work there; they devote day and night to making their contribution to the development and construction of the country. My deepest gratitude to all of them. To my new colleagues and new comrades-in-arms I promise that together with them we will fight tirelessly”, he concluded.
