Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Wednesday said that the Georgian Government would continue pursuing its pragmatic policy.
In his remarks, Kirtskhalia noted that Georgia’s economy has exceeded GEL 100 billion, while the country continues to make progress across key sectors.
“Infrastructure projects are advancing, the main highway is nearing completion, new airports are being built, existing airports are being expanded, and the railway is being modernised. We are making progress in every direction. Year after year, we are reaching historic highs, and the public sees this. The poverty rate has been reduced threefold”, he said.
Kirtskhalia acknowledged that challenges remain but stressed that the country’s development should be assessed based on its overall trajectory.
“Of course, everything is not perfect, and it cannot become perfect overnight. But we should look at the pace of our progress, the giant steps we are taking, and where we stand compared to previous years”, he said.
The official further added that the Government would continue to capitalise on Georgia’s strategic geographic location while maintaining stability in a volatile global environment.
“Once again, we will make the fullest possible use of our geographic location. Given the challenges facing the world today and those that may arise at any time, we will do everything possible to ensure our country remains an island of peace in the region and a stable environment for investment. We have seen significant investment inflows and major international companies entering the country. I should also mention the port project and the state-centered model we have adopted, which will attract substantial investment under the approach we recently announced”, he noted.
“Just recall Eagle Hills’ investment. All of this is made possible by one thing - a stable environment and confidence in future stability. This benefits both domestic businesses and foreign investors, and we will certainly continue this policy”, Kirtskhalia concluded.
