Aleksandre Kartozia, Georgia’s Ambassador to Germany, on Thursday said German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was a “friend and supporter of Georgia”, after presenting his credentials to the German leader.
In his remarks, Kartozia said Steinmeier had reaffirmed his appreciation for Georgia during their meeting and spoke about the longstanding relationship between Georgia and Germany.
“The German President can be described as a friend and supporter of Georgia, and he reaffirmed this during today's meeting. He said that whenever he had visited Georgia, he had always felt what we often speak about, the long history and unique character of Georgian-German relations, as well as Georgians' special appreciation for German culture, the German language, and Germany in general”, Kartozia noted
“Therefore, I believe we have reason to expect positive developments in this regard”, the Ambassador concluded.
