Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday said that Kazakhstan is the first country in Central Asia to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Georgia.
She noted that this would make a significant contribution to deepening Georgia’s relations not only with Kazakhstan, but also with the broader Central Asian region.
“Relations with Kazakhstan have been developing dynamically in recent years. There is a strong foundation for elevating Georgian-Kazakh relations to a strategic level. This is a truly important development, as Kazakhstan is the first country in Central Asia to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Georgia. It will make a significant contribution to deepening relations not only with Kazakhstan, but also with the broader Central Asian region”, the FM said.
She also highlighted the existing trade and economic relations between the two countries, adding that the strategic partnership would create additional opportunities to further strengthen cooperation.
“We have a very busy agenda with Kazakhstan and important trade and economic relations. Kazakhstan is an important partner, and the strategic partnership will once again provide an opportunity to further strengthen our relations and take additional positive steps in relations between the two countries, for the benefit of both nations and peoples”, Botchorishvili concluded.
