At a briefing held at the ruling Georgian Dream party’s office, Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, on Saturday emphasised the importance of the ongoing local self-government elections for the future of the country.
“We are seeing numerous statements calling for unrest. At the same time, we see very high voter turnout, and today is significant because every citizen of our country who goes to the polls is sending a response to the opposition parties. By participating in this election, citizens are saying no to calls for destabilisation, no to chaos, and no to a return to the past”, the Minister said.
She further added that voting was an expression of support for the country’s development and progress.
“Through participation in the elections, citizens are standing for peace, stability, and economic advancement in our country,” she concluded.
