Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday said his vote in Georgia’s local self-government elections was cast for peace, prosperity, and development, emphasising support for the ruling party’s record in maintaining stability and progress.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze emphasised that he voted for the Georgian Dream party, which he described as the only force that has maintained peace and driven progress in the country.
“It is clear to everyone what and whom I voted for. I voted for peace, more prosperity, and more development for our country and our capital, and for the only party that has preserved peace in our country and brought progress and development throughout all these years”, Kobakhidze said.
He also expressed confidence in his choice for Tbilisi’s mayoral candidate, saying, “I voted for the only mayoral candidate who can bring more prosperity to our capital”.
Local self-government elections are taking place in Georgia, with citizens voting to elect municipal council members and mayors for a four-year term.
Georgians are casting their ballots to select representatives to 64 local councils (Sakrebulo) and 64 mayors across the country.
