Tbilisi mayoral race: GORBI poll shows Kakha Kaladze in the lead

A recent poll conducted by the Georgian Opinion Research Business International (GORBI) for TV company Imedi indicates that the ruling Georgian Dream candidate and the incumbent Mayor Kakha Kaladze is the frontrunner for the Tbilisi mayoral race.

The survey's field work was conducted between August 11 and 20, a period when the final opposition candidates were not yet known. At the time, Aleko Elisashvili and Giorgi Sharashidze were being actively discussed as potential contenders. The poll results present two scenarios based on these potential matchups.

In the case of a possible competition between Kaladze and Aleko Elisashvili, the percentages would be as follows:

Kaladze - 77.6%
Elisashvili - 22.4%

In the second case, the percentages between Kaladze and Giorgi Sharashidze would be as follows:

Kaladze - 84.6%
Sharashidze - 15.4%

The survey used face-to-face interviews with a total of 2,300 respondents. The margin of error is +/- 3 percent.
