The ruling Georgian Dream party is set to officially nominate incumbent Kakha Kaladze on Thursday as their candidate for the Mayor of Tbilisi, entrusting him with the city's leadership for a third consecutive term.
Kaladze's candidacy has been met with strong support within the Georgian Dream, with party members emphasising his unparalleled suitability for the role and highlighting his past achievements.
Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, said that Tbilisi “needs a mayor who deeply understands its problems, has accomplished a great deal of good work, and can do much more in the future”.
The party views Kaladze as an “unrivaled candidate”, citing the numerous projects and initiatives undertaken during his previous terms as evidence of his effective governance and dedication to the capital’s development.
