Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, along with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Sport Thea Tsulukiani, on Saturday opened the new building of Zacharia Paliashvili Central Music School.
The Prime Minister toured the renovated space and reviewed the work that had been done.
For many years, the school struggled with serious challenges. Before the renovation, the building did not provide a suitable professional environment or meet the standards of the Central Music School.
Thanks to investment from the Cartu Foundation and support from the state, the school’s building has now been fully restored, with over ₾7 million spent on the project.
The Prime Minister congratulated Principal Nodar Zhvania, the teachers, and students on the opening of the new building, and also wished them a happy 90th anniversary of the institution.
Irakli Kobakhidze, along with Thea Tsulukiani and the Chair of the Cartu Foundation Board, Nikoloz Chkhetiani, attended a concert celebrating the inauguration of the new building, featuring performances by accomplished students and alumni from the Central Music School.
